Robert Frederick Hoke

Robert Frederick Hoke (27 May 1837 – 3 July 1912) was born in Lincolnton, North Carolina. He served as a Confederate Major General during the War Between the States. Hoke's Division played a decisive role during the Battle of Cold Harbor. After the war, Hoke was engaged in various business enterprises, including gold and iron mining, insurance, and railroads. He served as director of the North Carolina Railroad Company for many years.
